Digital Citizenship workshop I - (July 1 - Sept 30, 2014)

‘Digital Citizenship Campaign’ was a project made possible by an award from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State, through a program administered by IREX (International Research & Exchanges Board). 85 students from 7 schools in Pune participated in this workshop.

Digital citizenship means the ability to use technology safely, responsibly, critically, and pro-actively to contribute to society. This workshop for secondary school students, teachers and parents envisions fostering digital competency, leading them to think critically, behave safely & participate responsibly in the digital world.

The workshop included 3 major activities:

  • 2 day workshop sessions on Digital literacy - For Student, Parents & Teacher Ambassadors Post workshop, these Ambassadors arranged a campaign in their respective schools to create awareness among other students, teachers and parents.
  • A ‘Cyber Smart Awareness Day ’ was celebrated by all the participating schools to showcase their contribution. They conducted a Poster competition, Slogan Competition and an elocution Competition on topics related to Digital Citizenship.
